KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High level of expertise in plant tissue culture and plant transformation.
  • The ability to play a lead role in the company’s plant transformation activities; defining and implementing new processes, leading the design and development of experiments, and helping to shape both short and long term goals.
  • A relevant MSc or PhD (or equivalent), with demonstrable post degree / PhD experience.
  • Able to thrive in a small company environment, fast moving and where many structures and processes are yet to be defined!

ROLE SUMMARY:

Dedicated to developing new and novel plant based products, this business is focused on the cultivation of plant based ingredients in a sustainable and natural way. Much of their work is revolutionary and groundbreaking, often working with crop types that haven’t undergone bio-engineering or transformation previously.

As they look to build their Plant Transformation capabilities, a Senior Scientist with a high level of expertise in plant tissue culture and plant transformation is required to help drive this forward. This role will require somebody with the experience level to not just follow an existing roadmap and blueprint, but to actually play a key role in defining such processes.

It’s likely therefore that the successful candidate will possess demonstrable relevant experience in Plant Transformation work in addition to a relevant MSc, PhD or equivalent in a related discipline. Some of this experience will ideally be in industry… however, those without this but who have worked closely with industry and can demonstrate a commercial and practical way of thinking are also encouraged to apply!
