Global Sales Manager, Vertical Farming

Location: Remote (with international travel)

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience working in a Sales capacity (5+ years’) selling to clients in the Food and Produce domain.
  • International experience and comfortable with travel to other parts of the globe (ideally with Middle East experience, although this is not a deal breaker!).
  • An ability to thrive in a small company environment where you will be the foremost sales person, responsible for shaping sales strategy.
  • Beneficial: experience selling technology or engineering solutions into the Food / Produce domain (in particular, any Vertical Farming related experience would be a bonus!), however this is a nice to have rather than essential – experienced candidate with experience of other product types in the specified sector are encouraged to apply!

 

OVERVIEW:

This small but fast growing business is a provider of technologies and infrastructure into Vertical Farming environments. Having come through the start up phase in recent years (with significant backing), they are now at commercialisation stage. Already with a couple of significant projects won, they are seeking an experienced Sales person to define sales strategy and drive growth on a global basis!

This is an opportunity to become a key driver within a business looking to further establish themselves internationally – particularly in the Middle East – with project values ranging from £1m-20m.

An experienced Sales person (5+ years’) is therefore required, somebody comfortable working within a small business with a high level of autonomy and influence. Whilst a background selling technology related products and services would be desirable, this is not a pre-requisite, and in general we’d be very interested in speaking to individuals with strong knowledge of the food and produce domains.

An ability to operate internationally is a must for this role, and we require somebody who does have some prior level of international exposure and has shown adaptability to different business cultures in various regions of the world. Vertical Farming is a massively growing domain in the Middle East, therefore this is an obvious target market – with exposure to this market being a bonus (but, again, not a deal-breaker).
