An overview of our activities for the month, roles worked on, and a month culminating in the World AgriTech Summit in London!
From a role recruitment perspective, September was typically varied, encompassing:
- Marketing and Customer success posts in the Agri-Biotech domain
- Sales positions in the regenerative ag and livestock-tech sectors
- Crop Scientists and Trials specialists in the world of plant-based proteins
- Project Manager in Vertical Farming
- Getting the ball rolling on a CTO post for a livestock-tech business (a development late in the month – more news to come on this one next month hopefully!)
AgRecruit was at the World AgriTech Summit in London, with a key topic of conversation preditably being investment – more specifically, how difficult this is to come by at the moment. Market conditions seem to be seeing investors tighten the purse strings and become more risk-averse.
Nonetheless the event was a succesful one for us; not the cheapest event in the calendar but one that comes with a highly relevant and targeted audience and an abundance of organisations sending key decision makers. Encouraging signs for us were various conversations with businesses HQ’d in different parts of the world with international expansion plans, and being approached by businesses looking to burrow further into AgriTech having previously made their mark in other sectors – always great to see businesses and individuals being drawn to the world of agtech!
Finally, our Managing Director attended Agri-TechE’s Ag 101 event – this yearly event provides a great crash course on various elements of the agri and farming sector at grass roots level. With many of our activities involving businesses and individuals who are a rung or two removed from ‘boots on the ground’ farming, this was a valuable opportunity to go back to basics and remind ourselves of what this sector exists for in the first place. Topics included navigating the various challenges involved in embedding tech on to your farm, plus a fascinating eye opener from a Founder of an AgTech business that hadn’t worked out, and lessons to be taken from this.
See you next month!
