Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Specialist

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Significant experience in conducting Life Cycle Assessments - with experience in industry being a bonus, however those whose expertise has been developed in other environments (academic, research, etc) are encouraged to apply!
• Strong knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment frameworks, ideally relating to the food sector.
• Ability to research and develop new LCA methodologies and strategies.
• Comfortable working in a data and numbers driven environment, and delving into data-driven statistics and models.
• Able to thrive in a start-up environment, within a key role of high importance in a small but fast-growing team!

ROLE & COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Having recently raised funding in the millions, this company is a Food Sustainability tech start-up aiming to help businesses across the food supply chain to measure and reduce their environmental footprint.

A crucial part of this is being able to simplify the practice of carrying out Life Cycle Assessments, therefore numerous platforms and models are being developed to help organisations involved in the food supply chain (this could be farming companies, food transporters, restaurants, food retailers and more...) carry out LCAs more accurately and rapidly.

An LCA Specialist is therefore required to join a small Data team, somebody who can be the key expert in this team when it comes to working with customers to perform LCAs and, longer term, implement processes and practices that lead to the greater automation and 'codifying' of Life Cycle Assessments.

Proven experience in conducting Life Cycle Assessments is therefore required, ideally in specific relation to the Food sector. Commercial / industry experience would be beneficial, but this is not a must-have and those with relevant skills developed in academia or research are also encouraged to get in touch.

The successful candidate will need to show that they can work in a small start-up setting, which will mean embracing a fast-paced environment and a role of high visibility and responsibility!
