KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Demonstrable experience in evolving early stage products to revenue-generating stage in an AgTech start-up environment.
• Expertise in developing revenue and sales strategies for a new product.
• Exposure to the very early stages of product development... from market investigation to achieving market fit.
• The experience level and gravitas to assume overall responsibility for the commercial performance of a start-up business.
• Able to travel (up to approx. 25%), including internationally.

ROLE OVERVIEW AND SUMMARY:

This tech start up has developed a concept incorporating software platform, IoT and AI elements that is geared towards greater productivity and sustainability in the Agriculture - specifically, horticultural - sector.

They already have working products that are revenue-generating but these are still at an early stage, therefore there is still significant work to be done in terms of market investigation and product development before a fully comprehensive sales strategy can be developed and launched.

A Chief Commercial Officer is therefore required who can combine business & sales acumen with a strong product background, specifically relating to Tech products & services in Agriculture. Ultimately this role will be about determining and realising a product vision that can lead to revenue generation and, in time, a comprehensive Sales & Business Development strategy.

The successful candidate will need to have related experience within an AgTech start-up environment, and may be someone who is now looking for an opportunity to build up an impactful proposition from the early stages upwards.
